Doctors

Dr Susan Salkind, Dr Jyotsna Hira, Dr Stephen Rogers & Dr Suomi Iizuka.

Please ask us who your named GP is.

How long will you have to wait to see a doctor?

We see on the news almost every day that GP surgeries are in crisis and patients are having to wait many weeks for an appointment to see their doctor.

Well, that may be the case at other practices. Indeed, some of our very close neighbours don’t offer pre-booked appointments at all, while others offer very few.

But here at the Rise Group Practice, we have just completed a year long analysis of our waiting times and, on average, you would have waited 5 working days for the next available appointment to see one of our GPs in 2015. At times, the wait has been as low as 2 days. The longest anyone has had to wait for an appointment in 2015 was 8 days and this was at a time of extremely high demand.

Another thing you may not be aware of is our walk in surgery. This ensures that, if you arrive between 10.30am and 11.00am any weekday morning with an urgent need to see a GP, you will be seen that morning. You may have to wait a while, depending on how that surgery is going, but you WILL be seen.

Having said that, we are not resting on our laurels. We are constantly trying to improve on these figures and we measure them every week. But we do feel very proud that, in these difficult times, you can still see a doctor at our practice on the day without an appointment if you need to and seldom have to wait more than a week for a pre-booked appointment if your need is slightly less urgent.

So, when choosing your next GP practice, make sure you ask about their average wait times and whether it is possible to see a doctor on the day without an appointment. You may be surprised at what you hear.

To register at the Rise Group Practice, please call in to the surgery and head to the left hand side of reception. Just follow the red signs

Disabled Access

In the car park, attached to the surgery, a reserved car parking space for the disabled is marked near the front door. Wheelchair access to the building is via the front entrance. A disabled patient’s WC is provided. If access proves difficult to any of our disabled patients we would be happy to consider any suggestions for improvement. Disabled patients needing the car park are asked to telephone reception with their time of arrival and access will be arranged. The health centre car park is not available to patients. There is access for wheelchairs from on-street parking.
